On Tuesday 22nd September we were contacted by one of our customers who had dined with us on Saturday 19th September, who informed us that one of their party had tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday 21st, after feeling unwell on Sunday.
Customers will be aware that we take our responsibility under the Coronavirus guidelines and legislation very seriously indeed and go beyond what is required to ensure the safety of both our customers and staff alike.
Upon receiving the above news we immediately contacted the local Health and Safety Team through Rutland Council and informed them. We have also had our entire premises deep cleaned using a liquid biocide spray professionally administered using a cold fogging machine.
We have been advised by the authorities that following our actions it is not necessary for us to close our premises and as such we will be open for both the take away and dine in service tomorrow, Wednesday 23rd September.
We have also been advised of a minimal risk to staff and diners last Saturday as medical advice indicates that in order for an individual to be ‘at risk’ they would need to be within a metre of an infected person for a period of 15 minutes. Last Saturday in our restaurant we are confident that the only persons in close proximity to the individual, who subsequently tested positive, were members of that party.
Further, it is not our intention to contact diners from last Saturday directly, as should NHS Test and Trace consider this necessary or appropriate, we will provide them with access to our records and they will undertake the required action.
Here at Sarpech we have always aimed to be both transparent and honest with our customers and have cooperated fully with the relevant authorities and adhered to all policies and procedures. We thank you for taking the time to read this announcement and for your continued support.Back to latest news
